An antique Edo era textile of indigo cotton with detailed sashiko design,  in excellent condition.

Dark Indigo textiles were a feature of the Edo era due to the hard wearing nature of dying the cloth to strengthen the fibers as well as repelling insects. This sashiko is not only a beautiful decorative feature, but also served to extend the life of the textile making it more durable.

Knit trim in khaki, never used Military surplus 100% wool.
