About Us

North Star Ship Jacket. Antique, silk obi with hand painted Japanese traditional sailing ships... Combined with Italian wool panels and Japanese silk lining.

For many years, we have been working with vintage & antique Japanese textiles, repurposing them into one-off pieces at a  relaxed pace, without a fixed plan, as the textiles presented themselves.

Inspired by the craft of another time.

The original, visible mending of Boro and Sashiko, represents fully utilizing the cloth, resilience & survival, as well as adding beauty 

Vintage Mens suiting, re-worked,  becoming relevant again as a cherished piece for a modern life.

Today, from my studio in Shiga, I continue creating and teaching through my work with antique Japanese textiles, vintage Mens suiting and denim.
